Anika Noni is a famous American performer and actress. Most famous is her character Tiana as Tiana in The Princess and the Frog. Tiana was Disney's very first African-American Princess. Disney Legends listed her one of the 2011 Disney Legends. Rose appeared as Lorrell Robertson in Dreamgirls that won the Academy Award. Anika Noni Rose (born on September 6, 1972) is an American actor and performer. Most famously, she is known for portraying Tiana Disney's first African-American princess as in The Princess and the Frog (2009). She was named a Disney Legend in 2011. The actress is also famous for her role in the lead role of Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar Award-winning film Dreamgirls (2006) and for her role as LaVerne Jukebox Ganner in The Starz program Power. In addition to her acting, she is well-known for her roles played in the theater. These include Emmie Thibodeaux, who played the Broadway adaptation of Caroline or Change (2005) for which the Tony Award Best Features Actress in A Musical award was given as well as Beneatha in the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun (2017) where the Tony Award Best Features Actress in a Play nominations were presented.
